Yoruba language is one of the developing Nigeria languages. Many books have been written in Yoruba for primary , secondary and tertiary institutions. As Yoruba, it is necessary that we know, not only how to speak the language, but also to read it. The knowledge of how to read and write Yoruba would certainly enable the language compete favorably with the other Nigerian language.
In pursuance of this objective, Yoruba language experts have put in much efforts towards the development of the language.
AKAYE 2
    We cook the food to make it palatable, easier to digest and more hygienic. Cooking makes meals tender and easier to chew. The taste of meat is also improved by cooking and is more attractive than raw meat. Cooking will destroy harmful parasites and bacteria. One of the parasites that is carried by meat not properly cooked is tape worm. Cereals and root vegetables cannot be easily digested unless they are cooked but many fruits and green vegetables can be eaten raw.
    Nutrients can be lost during cooking in two ways. They can be lost in the cooking water. Secondly, heat may destroy some of the nutrients. But the effect of cooking on the nutritive value of foods will depend on the method of cooking used. Meat, vegetable, beans and maize can all be stewed together in the same pot the result is nutritious meat.
