\n<\/strong>Safety needs and measures in home, school and work environment.
\n<\/strong>Safety is a situation which prevents any form of injury while performing any activities.
\nSafety is a precaution against injury while performing any activities.
\nA safe community is one that takes responsibility for supporting its members and each member is well valued
\nNeeds\/Reason for Safety in our community
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

    To prevent loss of life\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  2. \n
    To prevent avoidable accidents\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  3. \n
    To prevent damage of properties\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

    To prevent temporary or permanent disabilities.\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

    Safety measures in Home, School and Work place.
    \n<\/strong>At Home:-
    \n<\/strong><\/p>\n

      Gas cylinder should be properly closed to prevent gas leakage\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
    2. \n
      Proper disposal of waste\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
    3. \n
      Car keys should be kept away from children and youths\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
    4. \n
      All drugs should be taken far away from children reach\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
    5. \n
      To prevent electronic shocks the house should be properly wired by professionals.\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      School Environments:-
      \n<\/strong><\/p>\n

        The school building should be properly constructed\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
      2. \n
        Fire extinguishers should be provided in strategic places such as laboratories, offices, kitchen, healing bay. Etc.\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
      3. \n
        School hall should be well ventilated\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
      4. \n
        First aid kits should be provided in laboratories, school clinics etc.\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
      5. \n
        School food should be hygienically prepared and served to avoid food poisoning.\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Work Environment:-
        \n<\/strong><\/p>\n

        1. \n
          Original sockets, plugs and other electrical appliance should be used in offices\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
        2. \n
          Proper wiring of the building should be put in place\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
        3. \n
          Smoking should be disallowed in all offices and restricted to certain areas for instance restaurant.\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
        4. \n
          Periodic training for staff on how to prevent forms of accidents in the work place by the safety manager.\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
        5. \n
          Staff should put off all electrical gadgets after office hours.\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          \u00a0PERIOD II \u2013 Subtopic:- Safety guidelines for pedestrians, cyclists, motorcyclists and motorists.
          \n<\/strong>A pedestrians:- This is a person who goes or travels on foot ( a walker).
          \nA cyclists:- This is a person who rides or travels by bicycle, etc.
          \nA Motorcyclist:- This is a person who ride or operate a motorcycle.
          \nA motorists:- Someone who drives a car.
          \nSafety Guidelines
          \n<\/strong>Pedestrians:-<\/p>\n

            They should walk opposite traffic rather than backing it while they walk on the road.\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
          2. \n
            Pedestrians should wear bright coloured materials while working in the night\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
          3. \n
            They should look left, right and left again before crossing\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
          4. \n
            They should use pedestrian bridges where provided.\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            Motorist:-<\/p>\n

              Motorist should never drink alcohol before and when driving\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
            2. \n
              They should not over speed\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
            3. \n
              They should never make or receive phone calls while driving\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

              Seat belt should be worn every time\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

              They should strictly obey all road signs\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
