The headquarters of the commission is located in Niamey, Niger Republic.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF NBC<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>To ensure the most effective and beneficial use of the waters and resources of River Niger.\n<\/li>\n<li>To collect, evaluate and disseminate data on the basin.\n<\/li>\n<li>To recommend to the Governments of member countries plan for the judicious use of the Niger Basin.\n<\/li>\n<li>To guarantee the freedom of navigation for all member nations on the river.\n<\/li>\n<li>To foster closer co-operation among member nations.\n<\/li>\n<li>To handle complaints and settle disputes arising from the use of River Niger by member nations.\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\u00a0<strong>LAKE CHAD BASIN COMMISSION (LCBC)<br \/>\n<\/strong>The LCBC was established in 1964.
