The road users include motorist, pedestrians, cyclists, motorcyclists and passengers.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<strong>RULES ON THE USE OF ROADS<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>PEDESTRIANS<\/strong>: The pedestrians refer to persons on foot who have need to either walk beside the road, cross the road or engage with other road users.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<strong>DUTIES OF PEDESTRIANS<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<div>Always walk on the side of the road.\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Ensure you are walking to face oncoming traffic.\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>If you are walking in the dark, wear bright or reflective colour of clothes such as white, green so that you will be easily seen by motorists.\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Look left and right of the road and left again before crossing the road.\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Use pedestrian bridge and zebra crossing where they are available.\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Observe road signs.\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Respect the rights of other road users.\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\u00a0<strong>CYCLISTS<\/strong>: Cyclists refers to road users who engage in the use of road by riding either in motorcycles, bicycles, tricycles, etc.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<strong>DUTIES OF CYCLISTS<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<div>If you are riding a cycle, ensure it is in good condition; check the brakes, tyres, lamps and rear reflectors.\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Take a quick look behind you before starting off and if you wish to turn, hold out your arm sideways, showing the direction you wish to turn to.\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Do not ride too close to moving vehicles.\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Do not wear flowing garments to ride a motorcycle or a bicycle.\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Ensure you put on a helmet.\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Do not carry more than one passenger on your motorcycle.\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Do not carry loads that are too heavy in order to ensure balance.\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Respect road signs.\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Do not drink and ride.\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Respect the right of other road users.\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Obey traffic warders.\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\u00a0<strong>MOTORISTS: <\/strong>This comprises of vehicle users (drivers).
