They are letters we write to people who are very familiar to us such as our parents, relatives, friends, classmates and other people with whom we have close relationship.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<strong>FEATURES OF AN INFORMAL LETTER<br \/>\n<\/strong>Writer&#8217;s address<br \/>\nSalutation e.g. first name as in<br \/>\n&#8216;Dear Peter&#8217;,Dear Chike&#8217;,<br \/>\n&#8216;Dear Kemi&#8217;, Dear Father or you include &#8220;My&#8221;<br \/>\n&#8220;d&#8221; must be small when &#8220;My&#8221; is included e.g. My dear Mother<br \/>\n Introduction<br \/>\nIt is best to start with acknowledging the receipt of a letter written to you by the person. You may also start by asking after the person&#8217;s health or any other way you like.<br \/>\nBody of the letter: Do exactly what the questions says you should do to earn more marks.<br \/>\nSubscript: Informal letters close with &#8220;Yours sincerely&#8221;. However, a few other forms are accepted such as &#8220;Yours affectionately&#8221;, &#8220;Your loving daughter, &#8220;With love from&#8221; e.t.c. These are usually written at the bottom right hand of the page. No signature is required. STRUCTURE: DEFINITE AND INDEFINITE ARTICLES<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>CONTENT<\/strong><br \/>\n\t\tDefinite Articles<br \/>\nIndefinite Articles<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<strong>TYPES OF ARTICLES<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>Articles can be definite or indefinite<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\n\u00a0<strong>INDEFINITE ARTICLES<\/strong><br \/>\n\t\t&#8220;A&#8221; and &#8220;AN&#8221; are indefinite articles and are used to indicate indefinite references to a noun. While &#8220;a&#8221;  is used before a word starting with consonant sound such as boy, goat, house, hoe, elephant, aeroplane etc. NOTE that the following words begin in consonant sound despite having vowel letters starting them. They must therefore attract article &#8216;A&#8217;, e.g Europe as in A European man, University as in A university. Others include: Eucharist, Eunuch, unit, union, uniform etc,<br \/>\n &#8220;an&#8221; is used before words that start with vowel sounds.<br \/>\nExamples: an egg, an apple, an orange.<br \/>\nNOTE that the following words have silent &#8216;h&#8217; and they must attract article &#8216;an&#8217;. E.g an hour, an honest, an honour. So, &#8220;the&#8221; is definite article making reference. <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<strong>Uses of the definite article &#8220;the<\/strong>&#8221;<br \/>\n<strong>When there is only one of the things being referred to<\/strong>&#8211; the sun,<br \/>\n\t\t\tthe moon,<br \/>\n\t\t\tthe wind,<br \/>\n\t\t\tthe rainfall.<br \/>\n\t\tWhen the hearer or the reader is able to know which particular thing or things are being referred to:<br \/>\nGive me the bag under  the bed.<br \/>\n(Both the bag and the bed are already known to the speaker and the listener)  <\/p>\n<p>\t\t\tThe letter in the envelope.<br \/>\n&#8216;The&#8217; is also used before the title of a newspaper.
